In 2016-2017 they became home to a small performance based dance company, Dynamic Dance Company. Kara Heinrich
Kara began dancing at three years old at Bobbi's Fancy Dancers in Reinbeck, IA. When she was 15 years old, she began taking classes at Attitudes Dance by Aimee in Waterloo, IA.  When she was 17 years old, Attitudes Dance by Aimee became Fusion Dance & Fitness when new ownership began.  Miss Kara not only studied multiple dance styles, but also taught Zumba Fitness classes.  Kara attended and competed at various dance conventions, performed at the Iowa State Fair, danced in multiple productions, has attended many workshops including Hoctor's Dance Caravan, Hollywood Vibe, Boulder Jazz Dance Workshop, Gus Giordano Jazz Intensive, and the Dance Teacher Summit.  She is a former member of the AGWSR High School Dance Team, Adante Dance Company (Attitudes Dance), and Edge Dance Company (Fusion Dance & Fitness).  Kara has assisted dance classes as well as taught private lessons and led youth dance camps over the past seven years.  Miss Kara continues her dance education by attending intensives and workshops all over the country.

Kara's dream was to open a dance studio in Grundy Center to provide students in our small town community a quality dance education without having to travel far.  In 2014, when a main street space opened up, Kara took the opportunity and opened Movement Dance & Fitness.

   Emilee Johnson

I began dancing at three years old at Bobbi’s Fancy Dancers in Reinbeck, IA. When I turned 13, I started on the Grundy Center High School Dance Team and danced there all 4 years, participating in State Solo Competition 3 years, All Iowa Honor Dance 2 years, and State Dance Competition all 4. The team received 1st Place in the Pom Category 3 out of the 4 years while I was there. I was offered a spot on the dance team at Iowa Central Community College where I danced for 2 years. We competed at both state and national levels.  At state Iowa Central competed pom, jazz, and hip hop and 4 out of 6 routines at state received 1st place. NDA Nationals is the largest Dance Nationals in the country and we had placed 8th and 9th place those two years I had competed; with teams all the way from Japan coming to compete. I was a lead dancer as a spirit in the musical Secret Garden at Iowa Central, and during all of that she was teaching at Dance With Me Studio in Belmond, IA.
This will now be my 3rd year at Movement Dance & Fitness. I’m looking forward to continue helping lead the Dynamic Dance Company again this year as we are expanding with more members and attending more workshops and competitions! My favorite part of being an instructor is just seeing these kids’ confidence levels grow, not just in their dance technique and abilities, but overall confidence in themselves. These girls make lasting friendships while at dance and I can’t wait for what this year will bring!
